7 songs for an endless night

Neteja

  • Man in the shadows

    Through the deepest forests
    where the light is gone
    where the river is longer
    and you are all alone

    When your bravery is closer
    when your fears emerge
    and your sleep is over
    good and bad converge

All those dreams where I used to belong
seem to be a desire from another
man in the shadows who howls at the emptiness,
lost in his homeland, who feels that he’s right when he’s wrong

    Losing touch with present
    as the river flows
    as I ride the serpent
    while I hear the crows

    While my seed is growing
    and it changes my soul
    in the deepest forests
    where the light is gone

All those dreams where I used to belong
seem to be a desire from other
men in the shadows who howl at the emptiness,
lost in their homeland, who feels that they’re right when they’re wrong

  • Dead singers

    Mixed emotions in eerie dreams
she comes in white in a holy beam
crazy patterns, no sense of time
I hear your voice through my wind chimes
    and it says
I’m still here and you still want me
I’m still here and you still want me

You may think that I’m talking about a girl
but maybe it’s another kind of pearl
It has no form, it has no name
and you can’t find someone to blame ‘cos
this danger, danger comes from inside you
this danger, danger comes from inside
    Oh let it rock

It dries the pain and hides the shame, with a Judas kiss
a youth to spend, a toxic friend always trying to please
like the black magic of dead singers touching your soul
the feeling that gets you out of the hole

  • Never push a sailor (feat. Núria Graham)

People talk all the time when there’s nothing to say
and hide their own fears when they point their finger at me
What is the advice of the people who were never there
what is the lesson you feel you have to teach?

and I say Oooooh, It’s fascinating
what makes you think my smile meant that I was alright
Running through the streets of my hometown
with no clothes on, it’s like a damn recurring dream
but it’s asreal as my anger

    Look! my hand hurts
    your soul was deaf
and now it won’t stop bleeding
    What was your mistake?
    You shouldn’t push a sailor
    Never push a sailor

Why do you appear years later when I told you the truth
You suffered a lot, well, you deserved it for sure
Conversations I still remember because the words were so painful
I’m still waiting for your present but I’d rather go

and I say Ooooh It’s kind of funny
what makes you think my smile meant that I was alright
Running through the streets of my hometown
with no clothes on, it’s like a damn recurring dream
but it’s asreal as my anger

    Look! my hand hurts
    Your soul was deaf
and now it won’t stop bleeding
    again it was your fault
    Never push a sailor

    You shouldn’t, you shouldn’t…

  • At war against

    Lorries
    at war against cars
    at war against bikes
    at war against pedestrians
    at war against bikes
    at war against cars
    at war against lorries

    Nations fighting nations
    Cities fighting cities
    Neighbours fighting neighbours
    Me fighting You

  • Pull up the roots

All my explosions come singing a devil’s song
All your rejections are digging a deep hole
I’m gonna cut off my ear, don’t wanna hear you
I’m gonna use my rage to
    Pull up the roots
    pull up the roots
    pull up the roots
    pull up the roots
    grab a needle, some thread
    and sew up your mouth
    sew up your mouth
Then, I’m gonna head down south

No time to swallow my pride, it’s time to spit it out
No time to follow your eyes that keep me on a tight leash
I’m gonna cut off my ear, because I hate you
I’m gonna use my rage to
    Pull up the roots
    pull up the roots
    pull up the roots
    pull up the roots
    Grab a needle, some thread
    to sew up your mouth
    sew up your mouth
Then, I’m gonna head down south

  • In my veins

All the world has something to say
I’m tired of hearingtheir words in my mind
It’s time they stoppedtalking for any oldreason
They really make us waste our time

So, let’s dance till we fall to the floor
Let’s shout ‘til we loseour voice
Child, there’s no return, only future
“Just for pleasure”, that’s our choice

Give me your holy skin and let me touch you
I want to feel you in my veins
Give me your shiny sweat and let me smell you
I want to feel you in my veins
Veins, veins, veins, in my veins.

Baby you’re my needle of love
    You’re my favourite helpless hope
Youfree me and clean me of everything useless
Baby you’re my needle of love

Give me your holy skin and let me touch you
I want to feel you in my veins
Give me your shiny sweat and let me smell you
I want to feel you in my veins
Veins, veins, veins, in my veins

  • Quicksands

Don’t try to put me down
    Springtime is here again
Your head is in the clouds
    playing this endless game
    Quicksands

You know that it’s no good
    starting a fight again
    If you win we lose
If I win it’s the same
    Quicksands

    Slave to your words
trapped in quicksand and sinking fast
    Slave to your thoughts
don’t use force or you won’t come out

    And everywhere you go
    we all feel the same
    same old dirty road
    under a different name
